Course Description:
This course will provide the practitioner with an introduction to how improving oral health in women prevents dental disease during pregnancy.
In turn the course will explore how improved oral health can significantly reduce early childhood caries and may reduce and even prevent
low-birth-weight deliveries.

The course will examine early childhood caries and discuss various risk factors and steps which can be taken to reduce the risk that a child will
develop ECC. The course will conclude with a discussion regarding the New York State Oral Health Plan, which establishes goals for improving
the oral health of all New Yorkers.
