Infection Control and Hazard Communication - 4 MCE Lecture Credits

If you are a dentist or dental hygienist practicing in New York State you are required to complete the mandated training in infection control once
every (4) years for licensure. This course fulfills that New York State requirement.

This course has been updated to include the CDC’s newest guidelines and recommendations not previously addressed for dentistry. This course
may also be used to augment OSHA training in your office.

At the completion of this course you will know the:

  • Professional responsibility to monitor infection control practices of those whom you are responsible

  • Mechanisms of transmission of pathogenic organisms in the dental office and strategies for prevention and control

  • Use of engineering and work practice controls to reduce patient and healthcare workers exposure to infectious material

  • Use of barriers and personal protective equipment for preventing contact with infectious material

  • Principles and practices for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization

  • Recognize the role of occupational health strategies in protecting workers and patients
