Dentists holding a New York State license, are required to fulfill the following continuing education
requirements under New York State Law:

  • 60 continuing education credit hours every three (3) year registration period. 18 credits can
    be home study.

  • Ethics and Jurisprudence course once in your lifetime.

  • Tobacco cessation course once in your lifetime.

  • Child abuse course once in your lifetime.

  • CPR course: you must maintain a current certificate ( varies 1-3 years).

  • Infection control course every four (4) years.

Practice management courses cannot be applied towards the 60 credit hours required for
every (3) year registration period.
Dental hygienists holding a New York State license, are required to fulfill the following continuing
education requirements under New York State Law:

  • 24 continuing education credit hours every three (3) year registration period. 10 credits can
    be home study.

  • Child abuse course once in your lifetime.

  • Infection control course every four (4) years.
